2021 Goals Update: January

One week from today it'll be February. While I'm once again blown away by how fast January came and went, I thought it would be a good time to keep everyone updated on my goals for the year for 2021.

I'm currently on track for my reading goal of 12 books, as I completed Lord of the Flies back on the 14th. I've still kept my streak strong on practicing French, with a streak of 312 days at the time of writing this on Sunday night (because I love to put everything off until the last minute). The renovation is also coming along nicely for Joel's latest housing project that he intends to convert into an Airbnb, which I will help manage once everything is complete.

I've fallen slightly behind in a few of my other goals, such as watching every A24 film, running 1,500 miles. And technically I didn't put out any new content last week (whoops). However, I've been spending a good amount of my time on the goal I'm arguably most excited about: starting a podcast.

As I mentioned previously, the Juxtaposed Journeys podcast will have feel good stories about people who are following their own path in life, and dives deep into how they got where they are. I've conducted two interviews over the past week, one with a standup comedian, and the other with an artist who works mainly with acrylic paint. Both conversations were natural, interesting, and the kind of stories I'm excited to share with the rest of the world.

While my original intention was to have the first episode released on February 1, it's unfortunately not going to happen. Without giving away too much detail, I've been collaborating with a local musician on original music for the show. I have full confidence this person will capture the integrity of the kind of atmosphere the show will have, and I couldn't be more excited to hear the final product once it's recorded. Because of that, I don't have a realistic timetable of when the first episode will be released, but I've been working diligently in the meantime scheduling and conducting interviews, and making sure the content is edited and polished off to its full potential.

With that in mind, I would love to hear your stories for when the podcast officially gets off the ground. If you, or anyone you know fits within the category of an entrepreneur, creator, or someone who lives a unique lifestyle or has a side hustle they're passionate about, please send an e-mail to juxtaposedjourneys@gmail.com with a brief description of what you (or a person you know) does that fits within the description. Life has been pretty hectic from my end lately, but I promise I'll get back to everyone who reaches out.

I hope you all have been staying safe during the strange times we're still facing, and that you've been working diligently on your goals in order to live the life you envision for yourself.
